WordPress backups with SHA-256 checksums checked before a restore, remote destinations, incremental file backups, site migration and optional database encryption.
Read the documentationBackup Restore Verifier Pro creates backups of your WordPress site and stores them where you choose. Before a restore it checks the archive, so a damaged or tampered backup is rejected instead of half-applied. The plugin is GPLv2 or later and is one standalone plugin.
Database, plugins, themes and uploads in one zip with a manifest and SHA-256 checksums. Run it by hand or on a schedule (hourly, twice daily, daily or weekly through WP-Cron). Jobs run in chunks and resume, so large sites do not time out.
Before anything is restored the archive is validated: format, checksums and unsafe paths. A damaged or tampered backup is rejected instead of half-applied. The plugin does not start a test copy of your site.
Restore runs as a job behind a confirmation. The site goes into maintenance mode, the affected components are snapshotted first, and the snapshot is put back if the restore fails.
Local protected storage, S3-compatible storage, SFTP, FTP/FTPS, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Backblaze B2 and WebDAV. One backup can go to several places; a failing remote destination does not remove the finished local copy.
Only files changed since the previous backup are packed. The database dump is a full dump every run. A restore needs the complete chain, and retention keeps parents that a kept child still needs.
Move a site to another domain, host or folder: plan, dry run, confirmation, run. URLs and paths are rewritten, including serialized and JSON data. The existing site is snapshotted first and rolled back if the run fails.
Optionally encrypt the database dump inside each new backup with libsodium (Argon2id key derivation, XChaCha20-Poly1305 stream). Files are not encrypted.
Optionally take a backup right before plugin, theme and WordPress core updates, with its own rules and its own retention.
