OptionKit
Free product add-ons and extra product options for WooCommerce. Option groups with fields, choices and prices, assigned to products, categories or tags. Version 0.3.1. Documentation.
1. What it does
OptionKit adds extra options to WooCommerce products: option groups made of fields (text, dropdown, radio buttons, checkboxes and more), each with its own choices and prices. You assign a group to products, categories or tags, and customers fill in the options on the product page before adding the product to the cart.
WooCommerce is required. OptionKit is an extension for WooCommerce 8.0 or newer and does nothing without it. If WooCommerce is missing or inactive, OptionKit shows a notice and waits.
What you get
- Option groups with text, text area, number, dropdown, radio button and checkbox fields
- A price on each choice, or on the field itself for text, text area and number fields: flat, percentage of the product price, per quantity, or a one-time fee per cart line
- Assign a group to all products, chosen products, categories or tags, with product excludes and a priority, or attach groups to a single product from its edit screen. A group assigned to a category also applies to products in its subcategories
- Show or hide a field based on another field in the same group (one condition per field)
- A live "Options total" and "Total" box on the product page. Prices are always recalculated on the server; the page total is only a preview
- Selections appear in the cart, the Cart and Checkout blocks, orders, order emails and the order screen (HPOS and legacy order storage)
- Export and import a group as JSON
- Accessible product page: every field has a label, radio buttons and checkboxes are announced as groups, descriptions are linked to their inputs, totals are announced to screen readers once typing pauses, a missing required option shows an inline message and moves focus to the field, and reduced motion is respected
- Light on the storefront: no scripts or styles on pages without option fields, and about 4 KB of script and 1 KB of styles (gzipped) where there are. Resolved option groups are cached between requests, so product pages need very few database queries
- Products with options show "Select options" in shop lists, so customers choose their options first
Free plugin limits
Up to 3 active option groups and 15 fields per group. Draft groups do not count. Nothing is removed when you reach a limit; you simply cannot activate another group or add another field until you make room.
OptionKit Add-ons
OptionKit Add-ons is a separate, standalone paid plugin from 007AJ. It has no group or field limits and adds range slider, date, file upload, calculated fee, signature, repeater and shortcode/HTML fields, formula and lookup-table prices, swatches, group layouts, editing options from the cart, starter templates, import tools for other add-on plugins and option analytics. It uses the same option groups, so moving to it keeps your data. OptionKit stays fully usable on its own.
Privacy first
OptionKit makes no outbound requests, loads nothing from other sites, sends nothing to 007AJ and does not track usage. The options a customer chooses or types in are kept with the cart item and saved with the order on your own site, and are covered by the WordPress personal data export and erase tools.

3. Questions
Does OptionKit need WooCommerce?
Yes. OptionKit requires WooCommerce 8.0 or newer. On WordPress 6.5 and newer, WordPress asks you to activate WooCommerce first.
Is it compatible with HPOS and the block checkout?
Yes. OptionKit declares compatibility with High-Performance Order Storage and the Cart and Checkout blocks. Order data is only read and written through the WooCommerce order API.
Is there a paid version?
OptionKit Add-ons is a separate, standalone paid plugin from 007AJ. OptionKit shows one dismissible notice about it on the Option groups screen and one link on the Plugins screen. If OptionKit Add-ons is active, OptionKit pauses itself and shows a notice; both use the same option groups, so nothing is lost.
Is it accessible?
The product page fields aim at WCAG 2.2 AA: labels on every field, grouped and named radio buttons and checkboxes, visible keyboard focus, polite live totals and inline error messages with focus on the first problem. Required options are also checked on the server.
What happens to my data when I delete the plugin?
By default settings and option groups are kept. To remove them, tick "Delete data on uninstall" in WooCommerce → OptionKit settings before deleting the plugin. If OptionKit Add-ons is still installed, the shared option group tables are kept for it. Options already saved on orders are part of those orders and are never removed.
4. External services
OptionKit does not connect to any external service. It makes no outbound requests, loads nothing from other sites and sends nothing to 007AJ. It does not track usage.
WooCommerce is required, but it is a plugin running on your own site, not an external service.
The plugin row on the Plugins screen and the dismissible notice contain a plain link to https://007aj.com/optionkit-pro; nothing is loaded from that address and nothing is sent unless you click the link yourself.
