OptionKit Add-ons
Product add-ons and extra product options for WooCommerce, with formula and lookup-table prices, swatches, secure file uploads, repeaters, layouts, cart editing and option analytics. Standalone; every feature works without a key or account. Version 0.5.4. Documentation.
1. What it does
OptionKit Add-ons adds extra options to WooCommerce products: option groups made of fields, choices, prices and display rules, assigned to products, categories or tags. Customers fill in the options on the product page, see a live total, and the server recalculates every price before it reaches the cart.
WooCommerce is required. OptionKit Add-ons is an extension for WooCommerce 8.0 or newer and does nothing without it. Standalone: it does not need the free OptionKit plugin. If both are active, the free plugin pauses itself; both use the same option groups, so moving from one to the other keeps your data.
What you get
- 13 field types in option groups: text, text area, number, dropdown, radio button, checkbox, range slider, date, file upload, calculated fee, signature, shortcode/HTML and repeater fields
- No limit on active groups or fields per group
- Prices on choices and fields: flat, percentage of the product price, per quantity, one-time fee per cart line, formula, lookup table or per repeater entry, plus role-based amounts
- Formula prices such as
max(5, width * height * 0.02), worked out by a small built-in calculator (never run as code); the live total uses the same rules as the server - Lookup tables with one or two axes, imported from CSV, for size-by-material style price grids
- Swatches: show dropdown, radio and checkbox choices as text buttons, color swatches or image swatches
- Secure file uploads: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, PDF and plain text only, each checked by its content (see the docs), with a size limit and upload limits per IP address, session or account and for the whole store, stored privately and downloadable only by store managers from the order screen; files never ordered are deleted after 24 hours
- Upload folder self-test with a ready-made nginx rule
- Range sliders and date pickers (earliest and latest day, no weekends), validated on the server
- Repeater fields: customers add 1 to 20 entries of up to 6 sub-fields (for example a name and size per team shirt), with an optional price per entry after a number of free entries
- Show or hide a field based on other fields: add as many conditions as you need in the field editor and choose whether all of them (AND) or any of them (OR) must match
- Group layouts: stacked, accordion, tabs, steps and popup
- "Edit options" from the classic cart and the Cart block, with recalculated prices
- First choices free (the pizza-toppings pattern), weight deltas for shipping, a shipping hint, signature pad and shortcode/HTML fields
- Starter templates: engraving, gift wrap, pizza toppings and measurement
- Import tools with a dry run for WooCommerce Product Add-Ons, PPOM and ThemeComplete Extra Product Options data already in your database
- Option analytics: most-picked options and choices, attachment rate, revenue from options and order value with and without options, stored as daily totals only, with a retention setting
- Accessible storefront: real labels, grouped choices, keyboard-friendly swatches, tabs and accordions, polite live totals, inline error messages with focus on the first problem, reduced motion respected
- Built for modern WooCommerce: HPOS, Cart and Checkout blocks (Store API), "Select options" in shop lists, no scripts or styles on pages without option fields, and upload, layout and repeater scripts only on products that use them
- JSON export and import of a group
Privacy first
OptionKit Add-ons sends nothing to 007AJ or anyone else and does not track usage. Its only HTTP request is a loopback to your own site when a store manager runs the upload folder check. Analytics are daily totals without names, email or IP addresses, order numbers or typed-in text. See the privacy section of the documentation.

3. Questions
Do I need the free OptionKit plugin too?
No. If it is installed you can deactivate it; while OptionKit Add-ons is active the free plugin pauses itself. Your option groups are shared, so nothing has to be rebuilt.
How do formulas work?
Give fields a Key (for example width and height), then choose the "Formula" price on another field or add a Calculated fee field. Variables: base (product price), qty, value, len, count and other fields by key. Functions: min, max, round, ceil, floor, abs, clamp, if. A formula with an error is priced at 0 and flagged in the field editor. Details are in the documentation.
I use nginx. How do I protect the upload folder?
nginx does not read .htaccess files, so add this rule to your server block and reload nginx, then click "Check now" under Upload folder protection in the settings:
location ^~ /wp-content/uploads/optionkit-secure/ {
deny all;
return 404;
}
Use the exact path shown in the settings if your uploads folder is elsewhere, or move the folder outside the web root (see the documentation).
What does Option analytics record?
When an order is paid, the option amounts of its lines are added to daily totals per product, field and choice. Cancelled, refunded and failed orders are taken out again. No customer names, email or IP addresses, order numbers or typed-in text are stored in the totals. Totals older than the retention setting (30 days to 2 years, default 1 year) are deleted daily, and you can turn statistics off.
Is it accessible?
The product page fields aim at WCAG 2.2 AA: every field has a label, radio and checkbox choices are grouped and named, swatches are real radio buttons and checkboxes, tabs follow the arrow-key pattern, totals are announced politely, and missing required options show an inline message and move focus to the field. The signature pad needs a pointer (mouse, touch or pen).
Do I need a key or account?
No. Nothing is locked and nothing is checked remotely.
What happens to my data when I delete the plugin?
By default settings, option groups and statistics are kept. To remove them, tick "Delete data on uninstall" in the settings before deleting the plugin. If the free OptionKit plugin is still installed, the shared option group tables are kept for it (the statistics table is always removed). Options already saved on orders are never removed.
4. External services
OptionKit Add-ons does not connect to any external service. It sends nothing to 007AJ or anyone else and does not track usage. The Documentation link on the Plugins screen is a plain link to this page.
The only HTTP request it makes is a loopback request to your own site: when a store manager clicks "Check now" under Upload folder protection in the settings, it writes a random test file into the upload folder, requests that file once from your own site's upload address to see whether it can be downloaded, and deletes it. No data leaves your server.
