Best WooCommerce Review Plugins in 2026 (Free and Paid Compared)

Best WooCommerce Review Plugins in 2026 (Free and Paid Compared)

Reviews sell products, but the plugin you choose decides how many reviews you collect, whether customers can add photos, and whether your reviews stay in your own database. This roundup compares the best WooCommerce review plugins for 2026, free and paid, with prices checked on each vendor’s site on October 31, 2026.

Disclosure: 007AJ makes ReviewLens, one of the plugins below. We have tried to be fair: each entry lists who it suits and where it falls short, and the prices come from the vendors’ own pages.

Quick comparison

Plugin Price (checked Oct 31, 2026) Photo/video reviews Review request emails Where reviews live
WooCommerce built-in reviews Free No Beta, off by default Your database
Customer Reviews for WooCommerce (CusRev) Free Basic; Professional $7.99/month or $59.99/year + VAT Yes Yes (free) Your database; invitation reviews are also published on CusRev.com

Prices change often and some are promotional, so check the vendor’s page before you buy. One plugin you will not find here any more is Judge.me: it stopped supporting WooCommerce on October 31, 2025, and its WordPress.org plugin is closed. If you are moving off it, see our guide to Judge.me alternatives for WooCommerce.

What to look for in a WooCommerce review plugin

  • Ownership. Do reviews stay as normal WooCommerce reviews in your database, or in a third-party service you rent? Rented reviews can vanish when the service changes direction.
  • Photo and video uploads, with location data stripped from images.
  • Review request emails after the order is completed. This is where most new reviews come from.
  • Spam control and moderation. Media uploads are an attack surface, so look for approval queues and rate limits.
  • Schema. Review stars in Google need aggregateRating in the Product structured data, without a second, conflicting Product node.
  • Total cost. A yearly licence for 3 years can cost more than the store’s first month of sales.

1. WooCommerce built-in reviews (free)

Every WooCommerce store already has reviews with star ratings and an optional “verified owner” label, set under WooCommerce → Settings → Products. For a store with a handful of products and few orders, this is honestly enough to start.

Good for: new stores that just need stars on the page.
Missing: photos and videos, a rating histogram and filters. A Customer Review Request email exists, but only as a beta feature you switch on under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features.

2. Customer Reviews for WooCommerce (CusRev)

The most installed option on WordPress.org, with over 80,000 active installations. The free Basic plan covers a lot: automatic review reminders, photo and video reviews, review forms and Google Shopping review feeds. The Professional plan costs $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year plus VAT and adds your own branding, advanced email templates and review forms, custom questions and email support.

Good for: stores that want review requests for free and are happy with a widely used plugin.
Keep in mind: reviews submitted through CusRev invitations are also published on CusRev.com, where the business cannot edit or delete them. That is a plus for credibility and a minus if you want full control. The Pro licence is per domain, and subdomains count separately.

3. ReviewX

ReviewX focuses on multi-criteria ratings, so customers can rate quality, value and delivery separately, with graphs on the product page. The free version on WordPress.org (6,000+ active installs) covers the basics. Pro is listed at $79 a year for one site, shown at $47.40 during the sale running when we checked, and adds automatic review reminders, coupons for reviews, video reviews and admin replies.

Good for: stores where one star score hides what matters, such as furniture or electronics.
Keep in mind: review requests and video need Pro, and the sale price is not guaranteed at renewal. ReviewX’s own pricing page says refunds do not apply to discounted purchases.

4. YITH WooCommerce Advanced Reviews

A long-running premium plugin from YITH with a rating histogram, helpful votes, review filters and image attachments, which fits well if you already use other YITH plugins. It was $89.99 a year for one site on yithemes.com when we checked (regular price $99.99), including a year of updates and support. The old free version on WordPress.org is closed, so this is a paid-only option now.

Good for: stores already in the YITH ecosystem.
Keep in mind: it is the most expensive yearly option here, and product Q&A is a separate YITH plugin.

5. 007AJ ReviewLens

ReviewLens is our plugin, sold for $25 one-time. It keeps everything as native WooCommerce reviews, so nothing is imported and nothing is lost if you remove it. It adds:

  • Photo and video reviews on the product page and on an emailed one-click review page, with every image re-encoded to strip EXIF and GPS data.
  • A star summary with a clickable histogram, “% would recommend” and a customer photo strip.
  • Review request emails with one optional reminder, an unsubscribe link and a checkout consent checkbox.
  • Optional reward coupons with an “incentive received” label, and product Q&A with verified-owner answers.
  • Spam protection (honeypot, time trap, rate limits, keyword holds, Akismet and optional Cloudflare Turnstile) and aggregateRating added to WooCommerce’s own Product schema.

Good for: store owners who want photo reviews, requests and Q&A in one plugin without a subscription.
Keep in mind: it is a newer plugin with a smaller user base than CusRev, and it has no Google Shopping review feed. If you need that feed, CusRev is the better pick.

Setting it up? Follow our step-by-step guide on how to add photo reviews to WooCommerce.

Which one should you choose?

  • Brand new store, few orders: start with WooCommerce’s built-in reviews and turn on the verified owner label.
  • Free review requests and Google Shopping feeds: CusRev Basic.
  • Several rating criteria per product: ReviewX.
  • Already paying for YITH plugins: YITH Advanced Reviews.
  • Photo reviews, requests and Q&A, paid once: ReviewLens.

Whatever you choose, follow the rules on honest reviews. In the United States the FTC’s consumer reviews rule bans fake reviews, incentives tied to positive reviews and hiding negative ones.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free WooCommerce review plugin?

Customer Reviews for WooCommerce (CusRev) has the most complete free plan, including review reminders and photo reviews. If you only need stars, WooCommerce’s built-in reviews are free and already installed.

Does WooCommerce have photo reviews built in?

No. Built-in WooCommerce reviews support text and star ratings only. Photo and video reviews need a plugin.

Is Judge.me still available for WooCommerce?

No. Judge.me ended WooCommerce support on October 31, 2025, kept data access until November 19, 2025, and its WordPress.org plugin was closed permanently. It is now Shopify only.

Do review plugins help SEO?

They can. Plugins that add aggregateRating to your Product schema make your product pages eligible for review stars in Google, and customer reviews add fresh, relevant text. Google decides whether to show the stars.

Which review plugin has no yearly fee?

Of the plugins here, WooCommerce’s built-in reviews and the free versions of CusRev and ReviewX cost nothing, and ReviewLens is a one-time $25 purchase. YITH Advanced Reviews and the Pro versions of CusRev and ReviewX are subscriptions.
